About The Position

The Procurement Manager is a critical operational role within Firebolt's US manufacturing business, responsible for owning end-to-end procurement execution with a strong focus on direct production spend. This position ensures continuity of supply, disciplined supplier management, and cost performance while operating in close partnership with Production, Scheduling, Engineering, Innovation, and Global Supply Chain. Firebolt operates in a highly customized, fast-moving environment where materials, components, and supplier performance directly impact delivery, quality, and margin. The Procurement Manager is expected to be proactive, commercially minded, and deeply embedded in day-to-day operations, anticipating business needs and translating them into reliable, cost-effective supply solutions This role balances hands-on execution with structured improvement It requires strong data acuity, ownership of procurement processes and systems, and a service-oriented mindset toward internal stakeholders The Procurement Manager manages a small team, owns supplier relationships from sourcing through performance management, and partners closely with Finance to deliver savings, rebates, and accurate reporting that supports informed decision-making

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field required.

Responsibilities

  • Own sourcing and purchasing for production-critical direct spend categories
  • Ensure material availability aligned to the production schedule and capacity plan
  • Identify and mitigate supply risks including lead time, MOQ, supplier dependency, and quality exposure
  • Act as the primary escalation point for procurement-related production constraints
  • Full lifecycle ownership of assigned suppliers
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, lead times, service levels, and rebates
  • Run structured supplier performance reviews
  • Manage US-based suppliers with defined offshore sourcing, primarily China
  • Maintain a tight operating rhythm with Scheduling and Production
  • Align procurement actions with forecast and capacity changes
  • Maintain visibility of inventory positions and critical materials
  • Balance service level, working capital, and risk
  • Own procurement process discipline across Cin7 and Monday
  • Ensure accuracy of supplier, pricing, and lead-time data
  • Use data and AI tools to identify risks and improvement opportunities
  • Production: continuity and responsiveness
  • Engineering: component and specification support
  • Innovation: NPD, trials, and supplier scouting
  • Own procurement savings delivery
  • Manage supplier rebates and reporting
  • Provide regular procurement reporting aligned with Finance
  • Line manage one Buyer
  • Set execution standards and priorities
  • Attend relevant trade shows and supplier events
