About The Position

Procurement Director – Americas, Raw Materials Huntsman is seeking a Procurement Director – Americas, Raw Materials supporting the Global Procurement function located in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will report to the Global Procurement Leadership. Job Scope The Procurement Director – Americas, Raw Materials is a strategic leadership role responsible for defining and executing the long-term raw materials procurement strategy across Huntsman’s Americas manufacturing network. This role drives cost competitiveness, supply resilience, and enterprise-level value creation while ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and global sourcing objectives. In summary, as the Procurement Director – Americas, Raw Materials, you will: Develop and execute long-term procurement strategies for key raw material categories across the Americas. Lead regional and globally linked sourcing initiatives to improve margins, enhance supply continuity, and optimize total cost of ownership. Partner closely with Operations, Business Centers, Supply Chain, R&D, Finance, EH&S, QA, and global procurement leadership to ensure alignment with business needs. Lead complex, high-value negotiations, including multi-year term agreements and spot supply contracts. Leverage global buying power through close coordination with global procurement teams. Maintain deep market intelligence on feedstocks, chemical markets, and energy trends to inform business decisions and mitigate risk. Provide senior leadership with reporting, insights, and presentations on supplier performance, market dynamics, and supply risks. Build and manage strategic, multi-level supplier relationships to ensure quality, performance, and risk mitigation. Ensure procurement activities comply with ISO, SOX, and Huntsman purchasing policies and procedures. Drive standardized sourcing methodologies and best practices across categories and teams. Lead, mentor, and develop the Americas procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, agility, and strategic thinking. Qualifications You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States .

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Engineering, Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, purchasing, or commercial roles within the chemical industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and influencing within a matrixed organization.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Advanced negotiation and influencing skills at an executive and enterprise level.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to translate market insights into business decisions.
  • Executive-level communication and presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive organizational change.
  • Results-oriented leadership style with a focus on value creation and risk management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with commodity chemicals and/or energy markets.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Power BI, and advanced analytics tools.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification or progress toward certification.
  • Change management experience supporting enterprise-wide initiatives.
