Job Overview The procurement assistant supports the procurement team by assisting with the acquisition of goods for the organization. Their responsibilities include researching suppliers, obtaining quotes, managing purchase orders, tracking inventory levels, and ensuring timely deliveries. They also maintain records of purchases, assist in vendor communications, and help resolve any issues related to orders or invoices. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a rapidly growing environment. Objectives of This Role Research suppliers, obtain quotes, manage purchase orders, track inventory levels, and ensure timely deliveries. Resolve any issues related to orders or invoices.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of procurement best practices and familiarity with inventory control principles.
  • Experience in a procurement or supply chain role
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with good attention to detail
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the production team to understand production schedules and forecast material requirements accurately.
  • Analyze historical sales patterns to predict future material needs.
  • Utilize various internal tools such as recipes and batch production records to understand how sales forecasts impact raw material needs.
  • Coordinate effectively with suppliers to place orders, track deliveries, and resolve any issues related to materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.
  • Work with existing and potential suppliers to bring in new material samples and COAs to ensure we are working with the best materials at the best cost.
  • Conduct weekly inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Keep track of stock levels, expiration dates, and ensure optimal stock rotation.
