The Procurement Manager, under the direction of the Director of Procurement, will act as a point of contact between vendors and firm stakeholders. Collaborate with users on requests and requirements to assess need and ascertain best route to maximize value. The Procurement Manager identifies, fosters, and facilitates process improvements in order to arrive at best practices. Plays an integral role in ensuring favorable contract terms, streamlined processes and attorney satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Accurately track and report key functional metrics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed negotiation techniques and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple contracts, assignments and priorities
  • Must have the ability analyze issues and problems systematically, gather broad and balanced input, draw sound conclusions and translate conclusions into timely decisions and actions
  • Must have advanced PC skills. Proficiency in collaboration applications (SharePoint preferred), Excel, Electronic Resource Management tools, and Visio preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide service and work effectively with diverse groups of people at various levels within the organization
  • Ability to analyze data from tables and figures and recognize connections
  • Flexible to work long hours as demanded by projects
  • B.A. or B.S. degree in finance, law or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms
  • Extensive experience working in the procurement department in a related field
  • Medium to Large Law firm experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Liaises with key firm stakeholders to determine product and service needs
  • Review current vendors and services to analyze if they meet current company needs & goals
  • Research and establish relationships with new vendors when necessary
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure advantageous prices, terms, timeline, flexibility & security
  • Coordinate with the legal review team on contract language
  • Analyze invoices to ensure accuracy of goods delivered
  • Accurately track and report key functional metrics to the senior procurement manager
  • Assist in the preparation, review and analysis of the forecast, budget and variances
  • Resolve vendor issues quickly and efficiently
  • Manage the completion of all routine procurement activities including approving purchase orders and invoice reconciliation
