About The Position

Procurement and Inventory Specialist Location: Somerset, NJ (Hybrid) Position Responsibilities: General Responsibilities Perform various tasks using ERP / SAP systems Follow established Warehousing and Logistics department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) Exercise good judgment in accordance with safety and operational policies and procedures. Collaborate with Warehousing team members to accomplish department and company goals and attend department meetings, as needed Inventory Management — 60% Lead the site’s Cycle Count Program, including coordination of monthly and annual counts with internal departments, investigation of count discrepancies, identification of root causes, and submission of SAP inventory adjustments to ensure accurate inventory accounting. Support and execute Inventory Auditing activities by preparing documentation, validating stock levels, and ensuring audit readiness. Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels, supporting forecasting activities and contributing to stock planning reviews. Follow established Warehouse and Logistics SOPs to ensure compliant and effective material handling processes. Use material handling equipment (e.g., hand trucks, forklifts) as needed to move or stage materials in support of accurate inventory control. Collaborate daily with Warehousing team members and cross-functional departments to resolve inventory discrepancies, improve stock accuracy, and support operational continuity. Supplier Management — 20% Lead supplier sourcing activities to support Local-for-Local initiatives, including reviewing current suppliers, sourcing alternatives, obtaining RFQs, and evaluating total cost impacts. Support and participate in supplier negotiations, including contract discussions, supplier agreement renewals, and Vendor Inventory Management considerations. Manage the Supplier Onboarding process by coordinating required documentation (W-2, banking, insurance, quality certifications), entering supplier master data into SAP, and facilitating change management related to new materials or supplier transitions. Oversee supplier performance monitoring, including monthly business review metrics such as On-Time/In-Full performance, purchase volume, and delivery frequency. Lead supplier-related corrective actions by identifying issues, coordinating follow-up, and ensuring required documentation remains up to date. Analytics & Reporting — 20% Develop, prepare, and distribute weekly Procurement and Inventory dashboards, summarizing key indicators such as stock levels, supplier performance, cycle count accuracy, and other critical KPIs. Conduct data analysis to support continuous improvement initiatives, cost savings opportunities, and inventory optimization. Provide monthly reporting on cycle count metrics, supplier performance analytics, and operational trends to leadership. Maintain accurate data within ERP/SAP systems, ensuring inventory, purchasing, and supplier information remains reliable for decision-making. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years purchasing experience with strong business acumen.
  • Experience with ERP system, SAP preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal / external partners with focus on relationship building.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize workload to complete task in a timely manner.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality conscious, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees from all levels of the company.
  • Software skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
