About The Position

Are you analytical, detail‑driven, and energized by optimizing inventory performance across a complex retail network? As a Procurement Analyst, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the right products are in the right places at the right time — supporting strong service levels, healthy inventory turns, and profitable operations across our stores and distribution centers. In this role, you’ll analyze sales trends, demand forecasts, and inventory data to drive purchasing decisions, maintain proper inventory levels, and resolve exceptions that impact store fulfillment. You’ll work closely with Category Managers, distribution center teams, vendors, and store operations to ensure inventory strategies align with business goals. If you enjoy blending data analysis with cross‑functional collaboration and thrive in a fast‑paced retail environment, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to make an impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in retail operations, retail or wholesale sales, or distribution — or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory management principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience using inventory management, sales, and merchandising systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and analytical tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, problem‑solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.
  • Skilled at building and maintaining effective working relationships with distribution center teams and suppliers.
  • Adaptable and responsive to changing priorities.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels for assigned categories to support service levels, inventory turns, code dating, and profitability.
  • Analyze sales performance and inventory metrics to establish reorder points, order quantities, and store distribution strategies.
  • Review vendor case discounts when determining purchase quantities to maximize value.
  • Conduct forecast analysis for promotional items and seasonal demand.
  • Review purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders to meet inventory and service level objectives.
  • Troubleshoot inventory issues and partner with Category Managers to resolve service level or availability concerns.
  • Recommend and implement solutions to address overstock or inventory shortages, including store reallocation strategies.
  • Monitor daily inventory quality reports from the distribution centers, including temperature, freshness, and expiration data.
  • Coordinate the proper handling and disposal of unacceptable products in alignment with company standards.
  • Act as an escalation point when stores do not receive correct products; research order and delivery status using inventory systems to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate inbound receiving priorities and delivery schedules with distribution center personnel to support operational efficiency.
  • Provide ongoing analytical support to Category Managers by reviewing daily internal reports related to service levels, inventory days, inventory dollars, receiving exceptions, and excess or shortage conditions.
  • Generate ad‑hoc reports as requested to support category strategy, forecasting, and decision‑making.
