SummaryThis role exists to ensure efficient and safe operation of the process water treatment return plant. There are two plant facilities that make up the Moses Lake Production Campus. The selected candidate for this role will begin their training at one of these facilities and then will be assigned to one of the two locations after training is complete. 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver’s License, acceptable driving record, be able to drive throughout the Columbia Basin, and ensure that the Company Vehicle Policy is followed when on official Company business.
  • Must obtain State of Washington Wastewater Certification within 2 years for position retention and pay upgrade.
  • Must be able to meet OSHA standards for Fall Restraint (a total combined weight of employee and tools of no more than 310 pounds).
  • Must become qualified within 45 working days of employment in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains necessary level of communication with team members and other support groups and does so in a participative management style, conducive with operational goals. Ensures compliance with Company standards for sludge thickening and dewatering.
  • Maintains Company standards for safety, quality, food safety, sanitation and GMPs.
  • Ensures that pH meters and all other analytical and online testing equipment are properly calibrated at all times.
  • Ensures that the waste flow is within the limits of the waste treatment system and the permit.
  • Ensures non-functioning equipment is reported to proper maintenance and supervisory personnel, logged, and monitored for timely repair.
  • Conducts start up, operation and shut down of all equipment related to the Process Water Treatment and Return Water.
  • Ensures that the equipment is operated in a safe and efficient manner to minimize the waste treatment loadings.
  • Interpret and analyze daily testing and operational data and make appropriate adjustments to systems as necessary.
  • Ensures that additional accountabilities required by management are handled in a manner necessary to meet operational standards. May assist with training other plant personnel.
  • Conducts and records testing and sampling of wastewater and solids in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Ensures operation and monitoring requirements have been met for the:  Influent System, Clarifier, Dissolved Air Floatation System, Centrifuges, Solid Waste, and Digester Systems.
  • Utilizes computer and computer programs to communicate, document, and track shift information and ensures that all documents and reports are completed accurately in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensures attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills and knowledge.
  • May assist in training other personnel.
  • Maintains Company standards for safety, quality, food safety, sanitation and GMPs.
  • Works within safety rules and regulations in actively avoiding injury to self and others.
  • Ensures proper food safety sanitation and cleaning procedures of all packaging equipment and systems.
  • Ensures self-compliance with Company policies and plant procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Maintains necessary level of communication with team members and other support groups and does so in a participative management style conducive with operational goals.
  • Ensures that additional accountabilities required by management are handled in a manner necessary to meet operational standards.
