SummaryThis position is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, and programming all packaging equipment on all lines with an emphasis on Line 4. This position will break, cover vacancies, and train employees in all Packaging Operator positions to ensure that all packaging area equipment and people are able to package french fry and specialty products in an efficient manner consistent with customer, quality assurance and packaging goals and expectations. There are two plant facilities that make up the Moses Lake Production Campus. The selected candidate for this role will begin their training at one of these facilities and then will be assigned to one of the two locations after training is complete.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Must be qualified as a Packaging Operator II for at least one year and perform this job at a proficient level consistently or equivalent experience and/or degree.
Must not have any active discipline (safety and performance).
Must have the knowledge and ambition to train other Packaging Operator personnel.
Must have the ability and ambition to work during plant outages.

Responsibilities

Operation of the Blueprint case packer and case erector, baggers, Ishida scales, and all supporting equipment of the Retail Line/Line 4 for optimal performance.
Efficient operation of baggers, Ishida scales and supporting equipment to meet required packaged volumes and package machines and support equipment to achieve required weights and bag and case condition.
Enters data regarding downtime into MMS.
Corrects underweight cases and slip cases as needed.
Packaging equipment and immediate area is maintained in a food sanitary manner, which meets Company standards.
Packaging materials are readily available at all times and proper programming on all packaging equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot all packaging equipment and to train on all procedures and operating techniques.
Demonstrates the ability to work with maintenance to perform preventative maintenance.
Packaging equipment and immediate area is maintained in a food sanitary manner on a daily basis and during major cleanup, which meets company standards.
Attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills and knowledge.
Ensures no injuries of self or others by following safe work practices policies and self-compliance with Company policies and procedures and Union Labor Agreement.
Interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a participative management style conducive with operational goals.
Conducts him/herself in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the company.
Ensures that additional accountabilities as may be required by management be handled in a manner necessary to meet operational goals.
