About The Position

Process Sustaining Technicians support R&D inkjet development through continuous improvement of tools and processes involved in the semi-automated IC equipment. This position will be working in the HP’s liquid cooling solutions business in the Microfluidic Technology Organization (MTO) and will apply their extensive knowledge, job skills, company policies and procedures to complete complex, specialized assignments/tasks in creative and effective ways. Comprehensive understanding of the general/technical aspects of the job. Works on assignments that are complex in nature and require considerable judgment, initiative, and technical/specialized knowledge to resolve problems and/or develop recommended solutions. Work is completed with minimal supervision and assignments may be completed without established procedures. May determine methods and procedures for new assignments. Typically provides guidance to other non- exempt employees. Process Technicians are responsible for creating, developing, and documenting process technology and tooling solutions. They work with cross-functional partners to ensure the accuracy of proposed requests and solutions that meet design standards, coordinating design criteria with various groups as necessary to ensure successful execution of assignments. They are expected to leverage skills to contribute to design modifications, facilitate continuous improvement of technology, processes, tools, and products as well as be able to maintain existing processes and tooling. Technicians are expected to know how to efficiently operate the equipment and processes they are responsible for. They are accountable for personal and organizational goals that drive advancements.

Requirements

  • 2 or 4 year degree in chemical, mechanical, computer, electronics or similar technology or equivalent combination of education and job experience
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, R&D environment with continuous change, challenging program schedules and urgent timelines
  • Works closely with technician leads and engineering business partners to meet goals.
  • Background in troubleshooting complex systems, computer automated systems, manufacturing processes or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge in relative areas of technologies (Electronics, Computer Science, Vacuum Technology, Pneumatics, Mechanics, Optics)
  • Experience in project management concepts and design of experiments
