About The Position

Scope: The Process Engineering Technician assists manufacturing, engineering and quality departments. The Technician may assist manufacturing with process elements or process and quality engineers with the testing and gathering of data on various elements of the printed circuit board manufacturing process. Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for assuring manufacturing process is running per procedure or conducting engineering tests Monitors manufacturing process or performs failure analysis for engineering or quality Takes measurements for process control or gathers measurement data for engineering Re-writes documentation to update new practices or writes and prepares reports for engineering or quality Responds to data on process control charts or maintains material movement spreadsheets and reports results Runs tests through production process line or assists process engineer with evaluating data Responsible for all processes within manufacturing and/or support the efforts of engineers Perform process control activities such as measuring product or performing tests Follow all safety measures when handling chemicals and hazardous waste with regard to use, mixing and disposing chemicals Additional Job Description • Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks. • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgement in resolving issues or in making recommendations. • Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments. • Typically expects 3+ years of related experience. • Vocational/technical education and/or relevant certifications may be required.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong desire and willingness to learn
  • Familiar with PC applications
  • Associate’s Degree (or in final stages of completion) in Engineering, Chemistry, or Manufacturing; or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong math skills, especially statistics
  • Technicians will undergo chemical handling training prior to the start of performing these duties and will actively participate in ongoing hazardous waste and chemical handling training.
