About The Position

Ergon Refining in Vicksburg currently has an opening for a Process Engineering Supervisor. This position is to coach, develop and train process engineering staff, manage process engineering resources, and serve as liaison between ERI and Mirror Lake R&M staff to develop and optimize the supply plan to meet supply and budget goals within safe facility operating limits. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering, is required.
  • Three years of refinery experience.
  • The person selected must be self-motivated with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills and successfully complete and pass a Functional Job Capacity Evaluation (FCE).
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • A clean MVR is required.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor, develop and train process engineering staff including individual development plans for each
  • Assign and manage process engineering resources to meet facility, department and group objectives
  • Recruit, interview, and hire process engineering staff as needed to maintain adequate resources
  • Serve as document owner for all process engineering controlled documents including programs, procedures, forms, checklists, and job aids
  • Create and update group staff notes to promote awareness of ongoing projects and plant operations
  • Compile and publish refinery Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) monitored by process engineering staff to optimize refining operations within safety, environmental and quality constraints
  • Interface with Mirror Lake Refining & Marketing staff to ensure production, quality, and budget goals are aligned with operating unit capabilities
  • Participate in the raw material approval and release process to ensure safe operation
  • Coordinate the maintenance of the refinery raw material database including assays and benchmarks to ensure accurate modeling of yield and quality properties
  • Develop, optimize and maintain the refinery Supply Plan in the refinery Sales and Operation planning process (S&OP)
  • Assist the Operations department in the optimization of the short-term production plan
  • Assist as needed in the development and execution of Capital Projects
