About The Position

Essential Functions : Continuously works with corporate engineering group to develop new products and improve existing process designs to reduce production costs. Assures that new production models are made and evaluated where processes are significantly changed. Provides consultation, analysis evaluation and review on problems of automation, advanced methods and equipment, material handling, etc. Develops and implements appropriate computer applications in process engineering. Constantly alert for technological developments in the filming process in industry. Pursues appropriate developments through tests/analysis and communicates the results to interested personnel. Maintains strong working relationship with other process engineers in Glassmaking, Cutting, and Packaging at other NSG Sites. Jointly implement filming application and developments. Maintains cognizance of design and development trends as applied to safety code or other regulatory body or agency trends. Modifies and pursues long-term plans accordingly. Develops and implements 5S projects. Maintains all Coating QC equipment. Lead Process Criticality Analysis efforts (FMEAs) in optimizing equipment and process performance. her duties as assigned by manager. Assist with the implementation of TPM initiatives. Provide production shift supervisory coverage when required Relationships: Internal Maintains complete and thorough communications with production, quality assurance, accounting, environmental, and materials management. Maintains on-going communication with engineering group including Corporate R&D to insure team interaction. External Maintains extensive contact with current technical and professional developments in associated fields by reviewing information and participation in technical group or technical seminars. Requirements

  • Minimum four years of additional education, BS in related engineering field, and or equivalent experience in technical field.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform tasks based on “on the job training” and/or practical application.
  • Computer and software proficiency, including strong knowledge of MS Office
  • Ability to work in teams, multi-task, and take leadership responsibility on projects
  • While performing the duties of this position, the associate frequently works around moving machines, chemicals, and high temperature in an industrial environment.
  • The associate occasionally must travel by commercial means or private transport.
  • The role can involve prolonged periods of standing and walking, often exceeding 8 hours per day.
  • Candidates must be able to climb stairs, crouch, kneel, and maintain balance in various working environments.
  • The position also requires the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds, occasionally over 20 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Exposure to Six Sigma (Green Belt)
  • Previous Glass manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with Pollution Control Plants
