About The Position

We are constantly innovating in the ways we are automating and accelerating the delivery of products and packages which includes building custom hardware and applying robotics, autonomy, supply chain optimization, machine learning, manipulation, image processing, and real-time data processing using distributed systems. Sub Same Day (SSD) Engineering is looking for a Process Engineer with a strong delivery record and proven project management experience to own strategic and tactical, cross-functional operations and technology projects associated with (SSD) facilities. As a Process Engineer for Amazon, you will work with some of the most talented engineers in the design, development, and delivery of physical distribution systems around the globe. You will lead initiatives and complex cross-functional projects or programs that focus on the building of new, the alteration of existing, and the closing of end-of-life material handling and technology systems. As a working leader, you are able to take the lead on the implementation and delivery of large system designs and advanced technology in ambiguous and complex problem spaces. You integrate systems for safety, security, stability, and efficiency. You participate in the full system development life cycle, working within broadly defined parameters, including test plan execution and solution quality needs. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative environment. Requirements

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and managing large, complicated programs
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM field
  • Experience in leading large-scale, technical or engineering programs with a proven record of thought leadership, business case development, realizing customer benefits, and successful program completion
  • 3+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level
  • Experience working with and managing third party vendors
  • Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing
  • Experience using advanced simulation modeling tools (Flexsim, Arena, Simio, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Design Process: Develop new processes or modify existing ones, focusing on equipment, workflows, and material flow, select and specify equipment required for the process, ensuring it meets productivity goals and safety standards, analyze and optimize existing processes to identify areas for improvement to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and minimize costs.
  • Ensure quality and safety: Develop and implement testing methods to ensure product standards, ensure processes adhere to safety regulations and standards, and investigate, resolve issues that may arise.
  • Collaboration and Communication: partner/ collaborate with critical stakeholders ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency gains, effectively communicate technical information to stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Monitoring and Analysis: monitor process performance, collect and analyze data for further improvement, leverage data analysis techniques to understand process behavior, trends to make informed decisions.
  • Utilize emerging technologies: leverage process simulation tools to model and analyses processes, research and implement new technologies to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
