Responsibilities Assesses the status of all patients and implements appropriate nursing care. Administers prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing procedures. Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions and notifies supervisor, anesthesiology, or physician of significant incidents. Assesses patient vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determine patient progress. Cross-trained to assist in Ambulatory Care, OR, or PACU whenever necessary. Participates in call rotation. Qualifications Work requires a basic knowledge of pathophysiology, the nursing process, nursing interventions, pharmacology, methods utilized for delivering nursing care and the management of patients and personnel. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Indiana RN licensure required. Work requires a working knowledge of nursing techniques and intervention skills which are normally acquired after six months of clinical experience. Previous surgery nursing experience is preferred.
