About The Position

The Process Control Specialist will assist in production activities as deemed necessary, provide training, assist in process changes, work with Engineering team in the development/transition of new products to production, etc. Aqua Membranes is seeking a strategic thinker and knowledgeable RO element production specialist. The Process Control Specialist will be a part of the production team initially where element rolling will be one of the main focuses of the job. In addition, this position will be an integral part of the production training team to assist production in learning various production tasks. This role is critical to ensure Aqua Membranes starts producing products on their own and does not rely on outside sources such as the Albuquerque (R&D) facility. Once established, the role will develop into assisting the R&D facility in the development of new products and product improvement techniques.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years in manufacturing, preferably in membrane, water treatment, or high-precision assembly.
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or 5 years minimum experience in related field.
  • System Knowledge: Quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, NSF, etc.), lean manufacturing technologies, and performance dashboards.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; ability to organize and prioritize effectively; maintain flexibility as priorities change.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving and technical abilities.
  • Ability to control and improve internal processes.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action and analytical problem solving.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for report writing and interactions with diverse groups inside/outside of the company.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop or bring forward, as appropriate, industry best practices and new technologies
  • Assist in the development and design of plant and process improvements (equipment layout, process flow, ergonomics, etc.)
  • Support production in element manufacturing focusing on high product yields.
  • Reducing/eliminating product scrap related to craftsmanship related issues (Knoxville and Albuquerque.)
  • Champion continuous improvement in identifying key process controls to maintain and improve processes.
  • Provide specialist technical input into team project work as required.
  • Apply a sound basic knowledge of safety, environmental and energy-related issues during the execution of projects.
  • Assist Engineering in the development of processing plans, methods, design, materials handling, cost reduction activities, and other areas as required.
