About The Position

U. S. Steel has an immediate opening for a Process Control Engineer/Development within the Process Control organization. This position will be responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting hardware and software of various different systems. This role is onsite at our Mt. Iron, Minnesota location.

Requirements

• Applicants with a minimum of an Associates Degree in Computer Science, or Equivalent Work Experience in the field of process control support will be considered.
• This is an on-premise position.
• The applicant will be able to support hardware, software, and basic infrastructure requirements in a heavy industrial mining environment.
• Basic technology skills in IP networking and cabling support, Windows-based operating systems, server support, and storage management.
• Must be a self-starter demonstrating excellent time management and organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize multiple work activities, and work safely and independently in a heavy industrial environment with a strong focus on customer service.
• Capable of providing oral and written communication interfaces with departmental management, operations management, operating crews, control system support personnel, external system support personnel, and others.
• This is a safety sensitive position requiring drug and alcohol testing. The salary range of $76,208.83 to $114,313.20 is a good faith estimate. Based on candidate skill/experience the final offer may be lower/higher.

Responsibilities

• The position will involve creating and maintaining web-based computer programs utilizing, C#, Python, and SQL.
• This position will involve installation, configuration, and support of mobile Windows clients installed on remote equipment.
• Responsibilities will also include basic networking configuration of various systems.
• The applicant will also help support and configure 3rd party server software on Windows Server based OS's.
• Applicant must have good communication skills to work with both on-site personnel and 3rd party vendor systems for support.
• The applicant will translate business requirements into industrial solutions and interact with personnel throughout the organization both as an individual and in a team environment.
