HP’s Corvallis site is a hybrid development and manufacturing factory, supporting advanced R&D, prototype manufacturing, and low‑volume production in a semiconductor cleanroom environment. Our technicians work on cutting‑edge equipment and processes that directly enable next‑generation printing and manufacturing technologies. Role Summary This evergreen requisition is used to fill multiple Process Technician and Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Technician positions. Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing electro‑mechanical subsystems such as motion stages, vacuum components, cooling systems, and opto‑mechanical assemblies. Experience designing and fabricating custom fixtures, brackets, and alignment tools using CAD software and basic machining (mill, lathe, 3D printing) Technicians in this role support semi‑automated manufacturing and R&D equipment and processes through a blend of process operation, troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement activities. Depending on business need and individual skillset, technicians may focus more heavily on process execution or equipment maintenance, with opportunities to cross‑train and grow into blended roles.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s (AA/AS) or Bachelor’s (BS) degree in a technical discipline preferred
  • Relevant experience in high‑tech manufacturing, equipment maintenance, or process support strongly desired
  • Equivalent hands‑on experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing electro‑mechanical subsystems such as motion stages, vacuum components, cooling systems, and opto‑mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience designing and fabricating custom fixtures, brackets, and alignment tools using CAD software and basic machining (mill, lathe, 3D printing)

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate, monitor, and support semi‑automated manufacturing and R&D equipment
  • Perform equipment troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance (PMs), and recovery activities
  • Support and sustain manufacturing and development processes, including process monitoring, SPC response, and quality decision‑making
  • Diagnose and resolve process or equipment issues, escalating appropriately and partnering with engineering, operations, and vendors when needed
  • Create, update, and follow technical documentation, procedures, and pass‑down communication
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts including reliability improvements, process optimization, cost reduction, and safety enhancements
  • Support tool installations, upgrades, and qualification activities
  • Collaborate effectively within and across shifts to meet manufacturing and R&D program timelines
