About The Position

Improves business processes through data and process analysis to improve efficiency, decrease cost, reduce errors and improve service. Primary Responsibilities: Interview process subject matter experts (SMEs), process owners and Division managers to understand how their processes work. Listen to needs of the business partner and consider those needs by asking probing questions until the real need is surfaced and understood. Document information elicited using analytical tools and techniques such as spreadsheets, pareto charts and process maps. Read and interpret process data and/or design measurement systems where they do not exist, and provide business partner with insights. Identify and document opportunities for process automation (e.g. robotics); develop business case. Combine an understanding of project objectives with thorough process and data analysis to identify meaningful and actionable solutions, including implementation roadmap. Develop business case and project benefits for discussion with the business. Manage small-scale process re-engineering efforts. Facilitate process workshops. Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management. Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Responsible for meeting and maintaining registration requirements under the Federal SAFE Act. Complete other related duties as assigned. Scope of Responsibilities: This position conducts process analysis and communicates effectively with management at all levels in support of large scale excellence programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to properly deconstruct the problem and determine viable solution options using data as a guide
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective listening skills
  • Experience creating clear and concise project documentation
  • Experience leading or facilitating meetings or events

  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Experience identifying the big picture, understanding project objectives and being able to apply an understanding of how processes should work to operational improvement initiatives
