Your care team will meet on a regular basis to discuss your progress and make adjustments to your care plan as needed. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area. The Registered Nurse, Procedural possesses advanced education in administering patient sedation and/or monitoring of patient post sedation or anesthesia. The Registered Nurse, Procedural utilizes extensive patient assessment skills, collaborates with all healthcare team members to ensure the most optimal patient outcome. Performs all activities at an expanded level of nursing practice executed within the context of the nursing process. Maintains education in ACLS and/or Sedation (excluding MG Orthopedics) allowing them to safely care for patients that are "at risk" due to sedation/anesthesia and procedure. If working with Pediatric population, will also obtain PALS training. If working in the Intra-op area the Registered Nurse, Procedural maintains a high level of expertise in the cases they assist with. The Registered Nurse, Procedural perioperative nurse is an RN who plans, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates nursing care for patients whose protective reflexes or self-care abilities are potentially compromised during operative or other invasive procedures.
