This 100-bed hospital serves the communities in and around Martin County. Here, you will work alongside passionate physicians, nurses and other caregivers in a family-oriented, supportive environment. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Orthopaedics, you will utilize your knowledge of nursing theory and disease processes in order to provide professional nursing care to patients needing care. Not only will you get to be a part of a small yet strong and compassionate team, but you will have numerous opportunities to grow via professional development courses. This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working days between 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and are required to work two days per week. Caregivers will rotate to different locations, including Tradition and South MOB, based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program
  • Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Experience with technology
  • Computer literacy

  • One year of clinical experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients.
  • Administer medication.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation in medical records and files.
  • Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
  • Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
  • Recognize changes in patients' status and report pertinent information to Charge Nurse or Physicians.
  • Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
  • Follow Code Blue protocol.
