The Orthopaedic and Rheumatologic Institute at Cleveland Clinic in Florida specializes in treating individuals affected by bone, joint or connective tissue disorders. Our team of physicians, physician assistants, nurses and specialized support staff at Weston Hospital provide world-class care and offer extensive expertise in orthopaedics, sports health and rheumatology specialties. As an RN on the Orthopaedics team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients who are post-op or getting ready to go into surgery and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. This opportunity can also act as a steppingstone to other nursing and leadership positions within Cleveland Clinic. A PRN caregiver in this position works a minimum of 2 days per week from 8:00AM – 5:00PM or 7:30AM – 4:30PM. Traveling between Weston and Coral Springs will be required, as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of recent experience as an RN
  • Will consider LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience in substitution of RN experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
  • Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage and establish care plans.
  • Collaborate with care coordinators to ensure smooth and effective transitions of care.
  • Administer medications and treatments.
  • Initiate CPR and other emergency measures as needed.
  • Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
  • Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures and specialized patient care equipment.
  • Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles within the department.
