PRN Childcare Floater (Experienced / On-Call)
About The Position
We are seeking experienced childcare professionals to join our PRN (as-needed) Childcare Floater Pool . This role is ideal for individuals who are confident in their skills, adaptable, and comfortable providing support across classrooms, transportation, and daily operations on an on-call basis. This position is not entry-level and is best suited for mature, dependable professionals who value flexibility and autonomy over a fixed schedule. Who This Role Is Best For This role is a strong fit for individuals who: Have prior experience in licensed childcare or educational settings Are confident stepping into different classrooms and situations Prefer flexible, as-needed work rather than guaranteed weekly hours Are dependable and responsive when coverage is needed Are comfortable being contacted for short-notice or same-day shifts This role is not intended for students, first-time childcare workers, or those seeking consistent weekly hours .
Requirements
- Prior experience working in a licensed childcare, early education, or related setting
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass background checks and meet licensing requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong judgment, professionalism, and reliability
Nice To Haves
- Experience across multiple age groups
- Previous floater, substitute, or on-call experience
- Comfort stepping into different roles as needed
- Experience with childcare transportation/bus driving
Responsibilities
- Classroom Support Provide classroom coverage across age groups as assigned
- Maintain active supervision and child safety at all times
- Support daily routines, transitions, and classroom expectations
- Follow center policies, procedures, and licensing standards
- Transportation Support Drive the center bus or vehicle as needed
- Safely load and unload children and follow transportation procedures
- Complete required safety checks and documentation
- Operational Support Assist with ratio coverage during staff absences
- Support kitchen or meal service operations as needed
- Communicate clearly with center leadership regarding availability and assignments
