About The Position

Isabel's House is seeking compassionate, trauma-informed, responsible individuals to join our team as PRN Child Advocates . In this role, you'll provide daily care and supervision to children in crisis, helping create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment during some of the most challenging moments in their lives.

Requirements

At least 21 years of age
High school diploma or GED
Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings (background checks, drug test, TB screening, references)
Valid Missouri driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of insurance
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Must work a minimum of 16 hours a month
Cover staffing gaps during shifts
Daily contact with children in a residential care setting

Nice To Haves

One year of experience working with children in a childcare or residential setting
Strong communication , judgment, and problem-solving skills
Ability to remain calm, flexible, and professional in a fast-paced environment
Compassionate and mature approach to working with children and families
Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
Ability to multitask and adapt under pressure
Creativity, initiative, and a commitment to child development

Responsibilities

Provide a safe, healthy, and non-judgmental environment for children and families
Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate, therapeutic, and educational activities
Support children with homework, play, and daily routines
Implement developmentally appropriate practices and therapeutic curriculum
Follow agency policies, licensing regulations, and approved behavior guidance techniques
Maintain required child-to-staff ratios at all times
Accurately complete documentation and daily logs
Assist with household responsibilities, including cleaning, laundry, and organization
Communicate safety concerns or policy issues immediately to supervisors
Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners
