About The Position

Isabel's House is seeking compassionate, trauma-informed, responsible individuals to join our team as Child Advocates . In this role, you'll provide daily care and supervision to children in crisis, helping create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment during some of the most challenging moments in their lives.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings (background checks, drug test, TB screening, references)
• Valid Missouri driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of insurance
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Compassionate and mature approach to working with children and families
• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
• Ability to multitask and adapt under pressure
• Creativity, initiative, and a commitment to child development
• Respect for confidentiality at all times
• Practice proactive, not reactive responses

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience working with children in a childcare or residential setting
• Strong communication , judgment, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to remain calm, flexible, and professional in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, healthy, and non-judgmental environment for children and families
• Follow agency policies, licensing regulations, and approved behavior guidance techniques
• Maintain required child-to-staff ratios at all times
• Accurately complete documentation and daily logs.
• Conduct documentation audits.
• Conduct child safety checks
• Responsible for household cleaning, laundry, and organization.
• Communicate safety concerns or policy issues immediately to supervisors
• Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners
