About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Coordinator in our Imaging Department to provide essential administrative and clerical support within our imaging departments. This role is crucial for coordinating patient workflow, maintaining confidential records in compliance with HIPAA, and ensuring outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to efficiently manage electronic health records and office productivity software.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Ability to work on a PRN basis, picking up vacant shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • Past experience working as a Coordinator or Unit Secretary preferred.
  • Medical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • You will perform secretarial duties, including typing, faxing, answering multi-line phones, and managing correspondence.
  • You will compile and release requested patient information, such as imaging studies, reports, and patient forms, strictly following HIPAA and Health Information Management (HIM) best practices and regulations.
  • You will collaborate with all imaging departments by providing outstanding customer service to patients and staff.
  • You will manage patient scheduling and/or rescheduling for various imaging exams.
  • You will assist in patient insurance pre-certification as needed to facilitate care.
  • You will coordinate imaging workflow to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • You will obtain outside radiological studies necessary for comprehensive patient care.
  • You will input orders for outpatient imaging exams accurately into electronic systems.
  • You will reconcile the "Failed Fax Log" daily to maintain communication integrity.
  • You will obtain correct imaging exam orders as needed.
  • You will occasionally transport patients to and from the department when necessary.
  • You will effectively communicate with a diverse population of patients, healthcare professionals, and hospital leadership.
  • You will navigate electronic systems efficiently, including Meditech, Fuji Synapse PACS, PACSCube, and other patient care related electronic programs.
  • You will efficiently operate productivity programs, such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
  • You will work as a supportive team player within the department and across the hospital.
  • You will perform other duties as required or assigned.
