About The Position

Loparex LLC is the world's largest manufacturer of extrusion base and silicone coated release liners for the converting industry. We have manufacturing operations throughout the U.S., Europe, China, and India. The Malvern facility annually supplies three billion square feet of release liner worldwide. The Printing Press Helper will be responsible for assisting in operating and tending printing presses. This includes assisting in loading/unloading material, staging printing sleeves, and assisting the Press Operator(s). MUST BE ABLE TO WORK A ROTATING SHIFT SCHEDULE Rotations are 7a - 3p, 3p - 11p, and 11p - 7a, five (5) days a week, eight (8) hour shifts. Each workweek is 40 hours. This role is within the United Steel Workers local 333 Union workforce.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or previous work experience to meet the job expectations.
  • Must be able to use hand tools and have mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to safely handle ink drums and kits using appropriate lifting/moving procedures.
  • Must have good record for attendance and punctuality and decorum.
  • Must work in a team environment, cooperating with co-workers and production leaders.
  • Must have good basic math skills for calculations.
  • Must have basic computer skills (navigation skills).
  • Must have clean work habits and ability to maintain a GMP workplace that meets Hygiene Requirements.
  • Must be able to read and understand written forms and instructions.
  • Must pass all three pre-employment testings. (Lifting test, drug test, and background check.)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in operating the printing press in a manner supportive of all company production goals and objectives.
  • Understand and follow all applicable safety and environmental requirements ensuring all OSHA, HAZMAT, and PADEP requirements and regulations are met.
  • Monitor manufacturing process and product; inform and advise Press Operator and/or Second Operator if problems are detected, take corrective action within limits of technical capabilities.
  • Understand and follow manufacturing instructions and schedules.
  • Assist with setup, operation, cleanup, and routine maintenance of printing press and press auxiliary equipment.
  • Clean and prepare cylinders, plates, sleeves, carts, doctor blade units, bearings, gears, and other items directly used in the printing stations.
  • Input production data into the shop floor computerized reporting systems to provide complete and accurate documents and records.
  • General housekeeping to keep printing work areas clean, neat, and orderly and perform routine maintenance according to 5S Processes.
  • Mix inks, coatings, and solvents as needed according to established recipes and work instructions.
  • Assist with maintaining mechanical print quality as required by customer and company and company quality standards.
  • Assist in maintaining and documenting inventory of raw and in-process materials, supplies, and packing materials used in printing operations.
  • Actively support and participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Correct handling and disposal of press waste according to established procedures.
  • Prepare, load, and unload materials as required to maintain a continuous running print process.
  • Monitor material status and availability and keep the press operator informed of upcoming needs.
  • Assist with staging sleeves for next order.
  • Deliver samples to the QC lab.
  • Operation of cranes, hoists, hand trucks and roll manipulators throughout shift.
