The company is seeking a Printing Manager to lead and coordinate the daily operations of the Printing and Sheeting departments. This role involves providing leadership and supervision to direct reports, acting as a liaison between direct reports and middle/upper management, and ensuring business operations align with departmental goals to exceed customer expectations and meet GPI's business, cultural, financial, and operational objectives. Requirements

  • Manufacturing experience required
  • 3-5 years relevant experience within the printing environment
  • 3-5 years of leadership skills – must have the ability to motivate people to perform at high levels
  • Excellent attendance
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Proficiency in SAP, MS Office and database programs
  • Requires use of all general office equipment (e.g., fax, copier, telephone, etc.)
  • Company issued Fork Truck Operator’s License
  • Company issued Clamp Truck Operator’s License

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating hand jacks, electric pallet jacks and forklifts and clamp trucks preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and/or equivalent experience in a converting facility is preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of roll stock cutting machines, printing presses, die cutting machines, and straight-line gluers is preferred
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Directs the printing and sheeting production of all items at the lowest cost consistent with established specifications in terms of quality and quantity.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements operating policies and ensures the application of such policies.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with all departments of the plant in establishing and carrying out responsibilities.
  • Manages employees by establishing performance goals, allocating resources, and assessing performance.
  • Provides leadership directed at continuous improvement in safety, quality / customer satisfaction, and productivity.
  • Provides leadership and direction to production management and employees to continuously improve quality, reduce waste and increase throughput.
  • Assists and supports Plant and Operation Manager in all aspects.
  • Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork
