About The Position

This role is a key part of our Building and Facility Engineering team, which is dedicated to delivering innovative and reliable solutions to support advanced industrial and regulated environments, including pharmaceutical and biotech facilities. As a member of this team, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design, implement, and ensure compliance for complex electrical systems critical to powering reliable and safe operations. Your contributions will play a vital role in maintaining operational excellence and aligning with our sustainability and quality standards. The Opportunity As the Principal Technical Sub-Project Manager for Electrical Engineering, you will lead the full lifecycle of complex electrical systems projects for pharmaceutical manufacturing and industrial facilities. You will act as the technical authority for medium and low-voltage power distribution, low-voltage systems, and fire alarm and life safety systems, ensuring compliance, reliability, and safety across all project phases. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, with 8+ years of experience in electrical project engineering in industrial, pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, or mission-critical facility environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute highly complex scope on mid-sized to large-scale projects
  • Project delivery experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments
  • Proven expertise in managing medium and low-voltage power systems, low-voltage life safety systems, and fire alarm system engineering within matrixed and multidisciplinary settings.
  • Strong knowledge of US electrical (NEC) and fire codes (NFPA, IBC), including experience in cGMP-regulated environments.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with demonstrated ability to align cross-functional teams and coordinate with external contractors, vendors, and AHJs.
  • Professional credentials such as Professional Engineer (PE) license, NICET certification (Fire Alarm Systems), and project management certification (PMP or equivalent).
  • Significant travel (50% +) assignment requiring weekly commuting and/ or temporary remote assignment as required to meet the business need (including on-site presence during FAT/SAT activities). International project assignment of 1 to 3 years as required to meet the business need.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the engineering, specification, design, procurement, and implementation of medium and low-voltage power distribution systems, UPS systems, emergency power, and standby generators.
  • Defining electrical system concepts, architectures, design standards, and technical roadmaps to align with project and business goals.
  • Providing technical leadership for low voltage systems, IT networks, access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, public address, and emergency communication systems.
  • Managing fire alarm and life safety systems in compliance with NFPA standards, IBC requirements, and local AHJ guidelines, including interfacing with fire marshals, inspectors, and insurance authorities.
  • Collaborating with external contractors and engineering firms, providing guidance and oversight to ensure timely, compliant, and quality execution across all project phases.
  • Overseeing factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), commissioning, and handover, ensuring all documentation, test records, and training materials are completed.
  • Developing design packages, technical specifications, drawings, calculations, and tender documents while evaluating bids and selecting qualified vendors for project execution.
