The Principal Tech Business Analyst acts as a liaison/Product Owner Delegate between business stakeholders and delivery teams, systematically gathering and documenting requirements/user stories to ensure alignment with business needs and successful project delivery. This position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the posted location(s); no relocation is offered. The ideal candidate is an expert in their field, applying broad business knowledge and strategic insight surrounding emerging trends and technologies to solve complex problems and drive organizational results. They lead critical, high-impact projects, design and implement innovative business strategies, and work with minimal oversight, frequently consulting senior leadership and influencing executive decisions. This role also serves as a mentor and assists others with challenging issues. Specifically, this role is assigned the most complex suites of applications and writes high-priority requirements/user stories that influence strategic decisions, leading multiple highly dependent technical applications or platforms.

Requirements

  • Act as a liaison/Product Owner Delegate between business stakeholders and delivery teams, systematically gathering and documenting requirements/user stories to ensure alignment with business needs and successful project delivery.
  • An expert in their field, applying broad business knowledge and strategic insight surrounding emerging trends and technologies to solve complex problems and drive organizational results.
  • Leads critical, high-impact projects and designs/implements innovative business strategies.
  • Works with minimal oversight, frequently consulting senior leadership and influencing executive decisions.
  • Serves as a mentor and assists others with challenging issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired in Computer Science.
  • 7+ years of related experience.
  • Certification is required in some areas.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and maintain detailed business and technical requirements (Waterfall methodology) or user stories (Agile methodology).
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clear understanding, alignment of project goals, and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and participate in testing and UAT activities to ensure requirements/user stories are accurately implemented and final deliverables meet business requirements and quality standards.
  • Manage changes to requirements/user stories, assess their impact on project scope, timeline, and resources, and identify and mitigate related risks.
  • Assist in project planning activities, such as creating timelines and resource allocation plans, while continuously seeking opportunities to improve requirements management/user stories processes and tools.
