Job Title: Principal Supply Chain Architect Current Need The Principal Supply Chain Architect is the senior-most individual contributor responsible for end‑to-end architectural strategy and governance for Supply Chain with key accountability for modernization efforts. This role has enterprise‑wide accountability for defining, evolving, and governing the target-state Supply Chain architecture across planning, execution, distribution, automation, integration, data, and analytics. Operating with broad autonomy, the role directly enables the Supply Chain Modernization Office by ensuring that modernization initiatives are architecturally sound, scalable, secure, and aligned with long‑term business outcomes. This role also ensures that there is a cohesive/End-to-End view coordinating with other architects within Supply Chain and adjacent technologies/processes. The Principal Architect influences multi‑year investment decisions, mitigates enterprise risk, and serves as a trusted advisor to senior Supply Chain and Technology leadership. This role is key to bring innovative technologies (including AI) for Supply Chain. This role will report to the MT Supply Chain Modernization Sr Director with dotted line to the Supply Chain Technology Vice President.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, enterprise architecture and large scale transformation
  • Experience developing and using multiple WCS/TMS solutions and deep understanding of their functionalities and integration capabilities.
  • Experience leading expansion of Supply Chain facilities.
  • 12+ years of experience in supply chain technology, enterprise architecture, or large‑scale transformation programs.
  • Deep expertise in Supply Chain systems (WMS, TMS, planning platforms, Quality, LMS, Customer Services) and DC automation technologies and ERP Systems (S/4 preferred).
  • Proven experience defining and governing architectures in complex, regulated enterprise environments.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with experience influencing investment decisions.
  • Executive‑level communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven track of innovation , including AI implementations.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on need basis.

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Architecture Ownership (P6 Scope)
  • Own and maintain the end‑to-end Supply Chain target architecture, spanning: ERP Systems Planning platforms Execution systems (WMS, TMS, LMS) Distribution center automation and robotics Integration, data, and analytics platforms Quality Define architectural direction that supports multi‑year modernization roadmaps while ensuring operational stability of legacy platforms.
  • Establish reference architectures, principles, and patterns adopted across the Supply Chain portfolio.
  • Supply Chain Modernization Enablement Act as the primary architecture leader supporting the Supply Chain Modernization Office.
  • Translate modernization strategy into architecturally sequenced roadmaps, identifying dependencies, risks, and decision points.
  • Ensure consistency and alignment across all modernization initiatives, regardless of delivery team or integrator.
  • Incorporates innovative processes and technologies (including AI / IOT) across supply chain processes.
  • Architecture Governance & Decision Authority Chair or provide authoritative guidance in architecture design reviews for major Supply Chain initiatives.
  • Set and enforce architectural standards across platforms, integrations, security, and data.
  • Approve or influence key technology decisions with enterprise and financial impact.
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., DSCSA) are architecturally embedded into solutions.
  • Investment & Portfolio Influence Partner with the Modernization Office, Finance, and Enterprise Architecture to support: CAR development Option analysis and tradeoff decisions Platform rationalization strategies Provide clear architectural recommendations that balance cost, risk, scalability, and long‑term value.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership through reuse, standardization, and simplification.
  • Aligns and design architectural artifacts across Supply Chain Team (heatmaps, design documents, review board decks, etc)
  • Executive & Stakeholder Advisory Serve as a trusted architecture advisor to Supply Chain, Technology, and Enterprise Architecture executives.
  • Communicate complex architectural concepts in business‑relevant terms for executive forums and steering committees.
  • Drive alignment across Supply Chain Operations, Product, Enterprise Architecture, and external partners.
  • Thought Leadership & Capability Building Mentor and guide Lead and Solution Architects across Supply Chain domains.
  • Elevate architectural maturity across the organization by promoting best practices and reuse.
  • Influence future‑state capabilities including analytics, AI, and automation as part of the modernization vision.
