Overview We are seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to provide senior-level engineering leadership supporting complex facility and infrastructure projects at a federal site in North Las Vegas, Nevada. This role will lead multi-discipline coordination, perform advanced structural analysis, and conduct construction document reviews to ensure compliance with DOE and applicable regulatory standards. The position supports ongoing operations and modernization of mission-critical facilities in a highly regulated environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering and a minimum of 15 years of experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction documentation, and construction inspection.
  • Working knowledge of Federal (including DOE Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to structural engineering design
  • Demonstrated experience leading structural engineering projects
  • Experience supporting facility modifications and upgrades
  • Familiarity with MicroStation drafting software
  • Ability to independently perform advanced structural analysis and engineering reviews
  • Nevada Professional Engineer license, or ability to obtain via reciprocity
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Department of Energy or nuclear facilities
  • Experience in regulated government or high-hazard industrial environments
  • Prior senior or principal engineering role on infrastructure or capital projects

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate structural engineering efforts across multi-discipline project teams
  • Conduct construction document and design reviews
  • Prepare and review calculations, drawings, and specifications
  • Perform seismic and wind analyses
  • Perform foundation design, structural framing analysis and design, and bracing analysis and design
  • Support planning, design, and construction phases of projects
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to engineering staff
  • Support renovation and modification of existing facilities
  • Utilize MicroStation CAD software for design documentation
