About The Position

EGS is seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Structural Engineer to independently develop and review calculations, drawings, construction specifications, and specialized analysis; gather, correlate and interpret technical data; and independently perform technical analysis and engineering studies to develop solutions to projects to support our DOE customer in Las Vegas, NV. Local candidates preferred. Remote candidates will be considered with 1 trip/month to site. Working knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and standards applicable to structural engineering design is required. A Professional Engineer license is preferred. Experience with DOE sites and nuclear facilities is preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering with a minimum of 15 years' experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, related phases of engineering, and field experience in the inspection of construction projects.

Nice To Haves

• Nevada Professional Engineer License, or ability to obtain through alternate state reciprocity, desired.
• Experience with DOE sites and nuclear facilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct construction document reviews as required.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate structural engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design, and construction phases of engineering projects.
• Prepare and review of calculations, drawings, and specifications relating to seismic and wind analyses, foundation design, structural framing analyses and design, and bracing analyses and design.
• Experience in renovating/modifying existing facilities is required.
• Familiarity with MicroStation computer aided drafting applications is required.
