About The Position

Sagility Payment Integrity Solutions specializes in identifying provider overpayments for health plans. Our internal claims repricing platform recalculates reimbursement using CMS and state guidance, rates and fee schedules, and plan/provider contract terms. We are seeking a Principal SQL Server Engineer to maintain and optimize a mission-critical healthcare claims repricing platform built primarily in SQL Server stored procedures. The system processes large claims datasets and supports overpayment detection and audit workflows for health plans. This is a deeply hands-on engineering role focused on performance, reliability, and evolution of a production SQL environment operating at multi-terabyte scale.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with all aspects of SQL Server in production environments.
  • Advanced T-SQL and stored procedure development
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of SQL Server and SQL Agent Jobs
  • Proven performance tuning experience at scale
  • Experience supporting large database environments and operational systems
  • Hands-on experience managing deployments and production support
  • Deeply technical and hands-on
  • Comfortable working in legacy, mission-critical environments
  • Strong problem solver with production troubleshooting experience
  • Motivated by problem solving, performance optimization, and system reliability

  • Experience working with healthcare data, claims systems, or payment integrity platforms

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance a large SQL Server stored-procedure codebase
  • Optimize performance across high-volume workloads and multi-terabyte databases
  • Tune queries, indexing strategies, and execution plans
  • Support production deployments and environment management
  • Troubleshoot performance and data issues affecting repricing workflows
  • Ensure stability, scalability, and maintainability of SQL platform
