We are looking for a full-stack Principal Software Engineer to join the Global Technology Consumer Product & Innovation (CP&I) team to deliver scalable software systems, guide engineering teams across our org and advise engineering leaders on technology and system design. The ideal candidate will have superior full-stack development experience in a native cloud centric environment. The person in this role must have outstanding communication skills, proven data design and implementation experience and a track record of delivering results. This person will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and will enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment as they collaborate with engineers, engineering management, product management, org leadership, and business partners. In this role, you will be one of the primary technical leaders in the Merchandising Domain. You will collaborate with designers and product managers to translate UX/UI designs into interactive web experiences and contribute to front-end and back end architecture decisions and advocate for scalable, maintainable code. You will participate in all aspects of the software engineering cycle, design and build reusable frameworks, and deliver scalable software solutions focused on Product Merchandising. You will also design efficient solutions to integrate existing products and platforms. In a typical week, half of your time will be spent leading by example to design, develop, operate, and integrate Nike platforms and Merchandising Products. The other half will be leadership responsibilities to drive technical priorities, define engineering best practices, collaborate with peers, and help to translate business problems into technical solutions. You will spend much of your time with Software Engineers in Product Merchandising Engineering and adjacent teams. You will partner closely with other Principal Engineers, Engineering Managers, Engineering Directors, and Product Managers across the organization. You will partner closely with UX designers to ensure delivery of high quality, user-centric designs and implementations. Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across product, data, AI/ML, and governance to support a wide range of experiences. Your work will help unify data and capabilities across domains, enabling use cases for merchandising, while ensuring governance compliance, breaking down silos, and driving alignment across globally distributed teams and leadership levels throughout Global Technology.
