As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, testing, and deployment of high-performance, scalable software applications. This hands-on engineering position requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions. You will collaborate across teams to drive technical innovation, mentor junior engineers, and ensure adherence to best practices in software development and automation.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production-grade systems
  • Strong experience designing and building distributed services/APIs and integrating across complex systems
  • Proven ability to lead technical direction, influence across teams, and align stakeholders on solutions and tradeoffs
  • Hands-on expertise with modern engineering practices: unit testing/TDD, code reviews, CI/CD, and automated quality gates
  • Solid understanding of non-functional requirements: availability, latency, scalability, security, and maintainability
  • Experience operating software in production, including incident response, troubleshooting, and improving observability/monitoring
  • Proficiency with modern cloud-native tooling (e.g., Azure, Kubernetes, GitHub) and a strong grasp of DevOps concepts
  • Strong database fundamentals and data modeling experience (SQL and/or NoSQL)
  • Excellent communication skills—able to explain complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of software solutions—from requirements and design, app tunning through build, test, release, and support
  • Partner with product, stakeholders, and architects to translate business needs into clear technical designs, interfaces, and estimates
  • Drive system and service architecture with a focus on scalability, security, reliability, and performance
  • Set and uphold engineering standards (clean code, TDD/unit testing, CI/CD, observability), and guide teams through code/design reviews
  • Build and enhance automated testing strategies (integration, end-to-end, regression) and ensure quality in fast-moving environments
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues across services, infrastructure, and dependencies; lead root-cause analysis and permanent fixes
  • Collaborate with DevOps/SRE and peer engineering teams to improve deployment, resilience, and operational excellence
  • Evaluate tools, frameworks, and processes; make pragmatic recommendations that improve developer productivity and customer outcomes
