About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Principal Scheduler in Norfolk, VA to join our team in the ship maintenance industry. As a Scheduler, you will be responsible for preparing and coordinating plans and schedules for new or existing programs, determining manpower requirements, and analyzing the impact of projects on various areas such as Operations, Program Management Office, Facilities, and Crafts. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with some experience in the ship maintenance industry to develop their skills and knowledge in scheduling and project management.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Engineering, Operations Management)
  • 6+ years as a scheduler in the ship maintenance or shipbuilding industry
  • Experience with a schedule modelling tool (MS Project, Open Plan, P6 Primavera...)
  • Must have intermediate Excel experience
  • Able to prepare and coordinate plans and schedules for new or existing programs
  • Able to determine, monitor, and review manpower requirements
  • Able to analyze the effects of projects on various areas such as budgets, on time delivery, and resource availability.
  • Able to work under general direction from supervision, with some guidance from policies and practices

  • Able to deliver products on time and without error
  • Able to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external customers to gather information and resolve issues
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (e.g., Business, Engineering, Operations Management)

Responsibilities

  • preparing and coordinating plans and schedules for new or existing programs
  • determining manpower requirements
  • analyzing the impact of projects on various areas such as Operations, Program Management Office, Facilities, and Crafts
  • formulate and recommend corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and work requirements
  • develop solutions to a variety of problems of increased scope and complexity
  • ensure accountability for completion of projects and goals

  • collaborate with internal stakeholders and external customers to gather information and resolve issues
