About The Position
We are seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to design, build, and implement scalable, secure infrastructure solutions across commercial and CMMC Level 2 environments. This is a highly hands-on role focused on solving complex infrastructure challenges, developing reusable platform capabilities, and driving automation across cloud and hybrid environments at scale. This role is ideal for engineers who prefer building and solving complex problems over producing static architecture artifacts.
Requirements
- 8+ years in cloud engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure roles
- Strong hands-on experience designing and building in AWS (multi-account environments preferred)
- Deep experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools
- Strong understanding of networking, identity, and security implementation
- Experience implementing solutions in regulated or compliance-driven environments (CMMC, NIST, etc.)
- Experience building and integrating CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure
- Strong scripting or programming skills (Python, Bash, or similar)
- Proven ability to take solutions from design through implementation and operation
- The essential duties of this position require adherence to U.S. Government export control regulations. Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable infrastructure solutions across AWS, on-prem, and hybrid environments
- Build and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules and platform components
- Develop and enforce secure-by-design solutions aligned to CMMC Level 2 and enterprise security requirements
- Partner with Security Architecture and GRC to translate security and compliance requirements into implementable controls
- Lead the implementation of network segmentation, identity integration, logging, and monitoring solutions
- Drive adoption of automation-first practices, including CI/CD pipelines and Policy as Code (PaC)
- Solve complex platform and infrastructure challenges through hands-on engineering and rapid iteration
- Contribute to and refine platform standards, patterns, and reference implementations through working code
- Support and mentor engineering teams on best practices for infrastructure, automation, and platform design
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies (including AI-enabled platforms) with a focus on practical implementation and risk alignment
