This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations. We are seeking an analytical, creative, and forward-thinking Finance Principal to join our team. This position will drive critical initiatives to improve the quality and timeliness of insights provided to business leadership. The individual should possess excellent financial acumen and strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills that can thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment. We're looking for someone with a passion for mission as you work daily with key stakeholders within the program and finance teams. You'll drive analysis, process improvement, and reporting towards financial and programmatic decisions that directly impact the history of space exploration! We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Ability to work full time on site in Kent, WA - relocation provided.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting, or other analytical field
  • 12+ years of experience in business or data analysis with a finance focus
  • Intermediate experience with data mining using SQL
  • Expert level skills in Microsoft Excel (Macros, Power Query and Power Pivot)
  • Experience with data mining across complex data sets
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills and ability to converse with non-technical business partners
  • Highly skilled collaborator and influencer capable of interacting with multiple business partners and team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in FP&A reporting tools such as OneStream & PowerBI
  • Experience leading or mentoring others

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross functionally to collect, document and communicate business requirements to solve ambiguous and complex issues, ensuring a systematic approach to all critical issues
  • Creation of content and ability to present data to support program, financial, and operations reviews
  • Work with customer-partners and domain specialists to generate financial data reporting to facilitate key business decisions
  • Serve as a change agent with strong credibility and influence in the organization
  • Data mining across complex data sets
  • Stay in sync with stated deadlines and ensure appropriate actions are driven in relation to business function forecasts.
