The Principal Business Systems Analyst serves as a senior individual contributor providing operational, analytical, and coordination support for complex, cross-functional initiatives within Empower. This role supports work spanning technology, AI delivery teams, risk, security, governance, and external partners. The position emphasizes workflow management, documentation rigor, and organizational clarity, with the expectation that the analyst can rapidly build fluency in emerging domains, including Responsible AI, while executing core responsibilities from day one.

Requirements

  • Experience in business analysis, systems analysis, program operations, or analytical roles supporting technical teams.
  • Hands-on experience managing Kanban-based workflows using Jira or similar tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and dependencies.
  • Ability to synthesize complex or unfamiliar technical material into clear operational and executive-level outputs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently, learn new domains quickly, and exercise sound judgment in ambiguous environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior exposure to AI, ML, data science, or model governance work.
  • Familiarity with Responsible AI concepts, frameworks, or evaluation practices.
  • Experience organizing internal symposiums, workshops, or large cross-functional events.
  • Experience managing vendors or external research engagements.
  • Experience building dashboards, reports, or analytical views that inform leadership decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate cross-team workflows, dependencies, and delivery sequencing across multiple organizations.
  • Manage and maintain Kanban-based workflows using tools such as Jira to track initiatives, risks, and dependencies.
  • Maintain operational artifacts including documentation hubs, decision records, evaluation inventories, and knowledge repositories.
  • Translate complex technical and analytical outputs into structured materials for leadership reviews, governance processes, and audits.
  • Support vendor engagements related to tools, services, or research partnerships, including coordination and follow-up tracking.
  • Perform analytical work to assess adoption, operational performance, and resourcing needs.
  • Support planning and coordination of internal symposiums, showcases, and cross-functional knowledge-sharing events.
