As such, team members are expected to proactively identify, evaluate, and drive performance-scaling opportunities through innovative circuit, signaling, packaging and interconnect solutions with a 3-5 year outlook, and to develop a robust intellectual property portfolio around these efforts. These objectives are achieved within a culture of diligent, continuous learning. The candidate is encouraged to support Micron’s performance scaling strategies through: Evaluating both novel and literature-inspired advanced I/O circuit functionality, and preparing promising solutions for future product adoption Realizing return on investment through diligent handshaking of new concepts with product teams Exploring opportunities to fully exploit future CMOS nodes Co-developing new Design-for-Test and in-situ characterization capabilities Deriving / incorporating new circuit analysis supporting enhanced performance characterization Driving circuit preparation to take advantage of test-chip opportunities Supporting advancements in time-domain proficiency, including jitter decomposition, BER, etc. The candidate is motivated to engage across multiple fields and organizations including Signal Integrity, Circuit and Chip Build, Packaging R&D and System Integration.

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent experience accompanied by 10 years in the industry or MSEE paired with 15 years of professional experience
  • Deep knowledge of CMOS device and circuit theory and familiarity with process integration
  • Comprehensive experience with end-to-end memory design flow and demonstrated success taking circuits from conception through layout / tape-out and into high-volume manufacturing
  • Deep understanding of existing memory I/O, clocking and data-path architectures
  • Solid understanding of signal and power integrity principles and sensitivities
  • Solid understanding of channel equalization theory and basic circuit embodiments
  • Pro-active – Candidate will be encouraged to identify gaps and opportunities and address them with minimal direction.
  • Visionary – Candidate will be expected to think “outside-the-box” and yet offer innovative solutions within a set of practical constraints.
  • Communicator – Candidate should be able to clearly convey vital details of sophisticated issues and corresponding solutions in both written and verbal formats.
  • Collaborator – Candidate should be able to work collaboratively within the larger pathfinding team.
