SummaryThe SGS Crop Protection Pricing Lead is responsible for developing and executing pricing strategies that maximize profitability while ensuring market competitiveness. This role requires strong analytical capability, experience navigating complex supplier rebate programs, and the ability to translate pricing insights to sales leaders and price‑sensitive growers. The position leads a team of three, partners broadly across Sales and Procurement, and drives adoption of pricing platforms and tools. The Pricing Lead will build trust with stakeholders, coordinate the bid process, and develop comprehensive pricing reporting and intelligence. This hybrid role supports a nationwide team, with a primary focus in the Pacific Northwest.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four‑year college or university.
  • 8+ years of relevant pricing, analytics, strategy, or crop protection experience.
  • Experience managing people and working with sales-facing teams.
  • Proven track record in pricing strategy, financial modeling, and market analysis.
  • Experience interpreting supplier rebate programs and determining accurate net pricing.
  • Strong analytical, strategic-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to handle sensitive or confidential information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across divisions.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Power Query, Power BI, pricing platforms, segmentation tools, and Advisor 3.0.

  • Minimum 3 years of agriculture industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze market trends, competitor prices, customer demand, and supplier programs to guide pricing decisions.
  • Interpret complex rebate programs and accurately extract net pricing.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit Directors, Regional Managers, Market Managers, National Account Managers, Sales Leadership, and Procurement.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain pricing strategies using market, competitor, and internal data.
  • Leverage pricing best practices, segmentation tools, SOPs, Advisor 3.0, and internal platforms.
  • Implement pricing adjustments based on market changes and organizational goals.
  • Lead, develop, and support a team of three managing day‑to‑day pricing needs and escalations.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the bid process, ensuring timely and competitive submissions.
  • Create and maintain detailed pricing dashboards and reporting using Excel, Power Query, and Power BI.
  • Communicate pricing rationale clearly, building trust with cross-functional teams.
  • Support crop protection growth by identifying gaps, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
  • Navigate high‑volume seasonal periods and manage urgent pricing requests .
  • Drive change management related to pricing platforms and sales team adoption.
