About The Position

· Set up, operate, and adjust press brake machinery to bend, form, or straighten metal materials according to specifications. · Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, work orders, and production instructions. · Select proper tooling, dies, punches, and back gauges based on job requirements. · Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, tape measures, protractors, and other precision tools to ensure accuracy and quality. · Perform machine adjustments to maintain correct part dimensions and ensure consistent production output. · Monitor machine operation and identify issues related to material, tooling, or equipment performance. · Safely load and unload materials, following proper handling procedures. · Maintain equipment by performing routine cleaning, minor maintenance, and reporting needed repairs. · Keep work area cleaned and organized, following Nucor safety and housekeeping standards. · Support other fabrication or production departments as needed based on workflow. · Adhere to all safety policies, ensuring safe operation of machinery and equipment at all times. · Performs other duties as assigned by supervision. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience operating a press brake or similar metal fabrication equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings
  • Advanced understanding of measurements, fractions, and basic math
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to use precision measurement instruments such as calipers, tape measures, and protractors
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift for extended periods
  • Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement practices
  • Ability to read and use precise measurement tools to tight tolerances
