About The Position

CSI Recruiting is working with a family -owned, multi -generational oil & gas company located in Southeastern New Mexico to fill the position of President and Head of Operations, Family Oil & Gas Company, Southeast New Mexico – Hobbs / Artesia / Roswell / Carlsbad. This role will report to a Board of Directors consisting of the founder’s descendants and will have oversight of 4 (four) corporate entities. Must live and work in the local area of the headquarters office. Comprehensive relocation assistance is included for out -of -area candidates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Petroleum Engineering or Geosciences is ideal, particularly if combined with other education in Business / Finance.
  • 20+ years of professional experience in domestic, onshore oil & gas production operations management with a preference for experience in the Permian.
  • 10+ years of experience working within small, preferably privately -owned, upstream oil & gas companies.
  • Hands -on experience in leading diverse teams of people, from clerical staff and field personnel to degreed professionals
  • Experience negotiating oil & gas deals, evaluating oil & gas investment opportunities and screening partnership opportunities
  • Experience working within a family -owned firm or family investment office environment
  • Experience reporting directly to a board of directors. Ideally, the candidate will have experience reporting to non -industry -experienced board members and owners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day -to -day business operations of four corporate entities, two C -Corps and two LLCs.
  • Oversee multiple functions for each company, including oil and gas operations, oil and gas accounting (accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, joint interest billing, joint interest partner relations), oil and gas land and legal, corporate legal, corporate finance and accounting, oil and gas regulatory, business regulatory and tax, and human resources. Also oversee joint interest partner relations.
  • Perform cash flow projections and develop both expense and capital budgets for all companies. Analyze balance sheets and income statements quarterly.
  • Review and maintain liability and casualty insurance coverage, and necessary state and federal regulatory bonding. Maintain vendor relations and negotiate any new Master Service Agreements with new vendors.
  • Participates in business development initiatives such as evaluating in -house and sourcing external oil and gas investment opportunities, performing economic and technical evaluation of oil and gas investments, sourcing and evaluating economics of alternative investments, and developing strategic alliances with partners. Must be able to analyze and evaluate geological and petroleum engineering presentations and data, and rank opportunities.
  • Evaluate oil and gas investment deal terms and negotiate industry -specific trade structures, and execute attendant contracts and agreements.
  • Manage operations of 30 marginal oil producers and 3 disposal wells, along with supervision of one field supervisor and one pumper. Manage all regulatory, environmental, operational, and joint interest account challenges that arise. Manage yard inventory and acquire needed oilfield wellsite and construction equipment. Supervise drilling and completion/workover activity.
  • Chair corporate board and LLC member meetings and directly report to the four members of the board of directors of each corporation, and/or the combined seven members of the LLCs. Work with the Secretary on approving meeting minutes and maintaining corporate books and stock ledgers.
  • Manage one corporate aircraft under FAA part 91, track and book flights, and keep manifests. Oversee scheduling and track flights and flight legs according to four IRS categories, and provide year -end data to the aircraft CPA.
  • Represent the organization as the top executive in legal and regulatory actions, and industry events, providing a professional public presence on behalf of the company
  • Communicate short -term and long -term goals for the company, and maintain a motivated, optimistic tempo with all employees.
  • Manage an embedded family office with oversight of personal bookkeeping on four personal shareholder accounts, and one shareholder individual corporate account, delivering correct records to the tax accountant at year -end.
  • Must be a trustee on the company's Defined Benefit Plan, and registered agent for all companies.
