About The Position

SourceAmerica is seeking its next President and CEO ahead of the planned retirement for its current leader. This position requires a thoughtful leader who provides a forward-thinking approach to the future of our program. The ideal candidate will understand how to leverage the influence of SourceAmerica’s network of nonprofit and AbilityOne federal contracting agencies, disability employment advocates, and relationships within the federal government. The ideal candidate is someone who leads the organization’s strategy, staff, and daily operations with a sense of passion and commitment to the employment of people with disabilities. The position demands a leader with a high level of integrity who can balance the requests of a variety of stakeholders: U.S. AbilityOne Commission, Federal Customers, Nonprofit and AbilityOne Federal Contracting Agencies, SourceAmerica’s Staff and its Board of Directors. There are approximately 500 nonprofit agencies in the SourceAmerica nonprofit network that provide products or services through the AbilityOne Program and over 37,000 AbilityOne employees are in the SourceAmerica nonprofit network. More information can be found at www.SourceAmerica.org/who-we-are [http://www.SourceAmerica.org/who-we-are] Due to the requirements of this position, the candidate must be based at SourceAmerica's national office in Vienna, VA and work 2-3 days per week in the office and has the ability to travel across the United States and its territories as business demands.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a relevant field of study from an accredited institution.
  • 20+ years of leadership positions including experience managing relationships with a Board of Directors, multiple stakeholders, and staff.
  • 10+ years of directly leading a large team that creates and executes the strategy of an organization and builds high-performing teams that strive to meet or exceed responsibilities assigned.
  • Proficient user of financial and accounting software/systems, data analysis, and understanding the financial reporting for a complex organization. SourceAmerica uses Microsoft Dynamics (D365) as its primary accounting and ERP system.
  • Significant proficiency with Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience leading an organization with a national footprint is ideal.
  • Prefer a candidate who has experience with disability employment or work related to disability employment.
  • Prefer a candidate experienced in the nuances of federal contracting, government affairs, public policy, or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of a 430+ person organization supporting $3.8B in total AbilityOne sales from our network in FY25.
  • Works closely with the community of nonprofit agencies to advance the mission of creating employment opportunities for people with disabilities. There are over 500 nonprofit agencies in the network, more than 300 of which are AbilityOne federal contractors.
  • Effectively advocates and promotes the mission of SourceAmerica with all stakeholders and influencers and builds relationships that inspire confidence, trust, and respect.
  • Ensures SourceAmerica, as a designated Central Nonprofit Agency under the AbilityOne Program, exceeds compliance and program expectations under the Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. AbilityOne Commission.
  • Proficient use of data measurement and analysis to help balance customer demands between stakeholders and illustrate delivering results.
  • External relations and strategy development working closely with the U.S. AbilityOne Commission to drive the SourceAmerica agenda relative to the AbilityOne Program.
  • Leads a team of direct reports who are charged with the strategy, operational, compliance, and financial success of the program.
  • Fosters a culture that supports the organization’s values of integrity, accountability, inclusion, collaboration, and passion.
  • Responsible for the financial status of SourceAmerica to develop short and long-term financial plans, ensuring the stability of the organization and the future of the program.
