About The Position

Join The Goddard School of Montville as a Preschool Assistant Teacher for a maternity leave position! Working Monday through Friday 9am to 6 pm, 40 hours per week. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young children's lives in a nurturing and engaging environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; CDA or relevant degree preferred.
Experience working in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators.
Passion for nurturing and educating young children.
First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
Must pass background checks and adhere to state licensing requirements.
Flexible and adaptable demeanor in a dynamic classroom environment.

Responsibilities

Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and activities.
Support children's learning through play-based and hands-on experiences.
Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety and engagement.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about children's progress.
Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including record-keeping and planning.
