Join The Goddard School of Montville as a Preschool Assistant Teacher for a maternity leave position! Working Monday through Friday 9am to 6 pm, 40 hours per week. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; CDA or relevant degree preferred.
  • Experience working in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators.
  • Passion for nurturing and educating young children.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
  • Must pass background checks and adhere to state licensing requirements.
  • Flexible and adaptable demeanor in a dynamic classroom environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and activities.
  • Support children's learning through play-based and hands-on experiences.
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety and engagement.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about children's progress.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including record-keeping and planning.
