About The Position

The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting in the daily food production process to ensure efficient kitchen operations. This role supports chefs and line cooks by maintaining organized workstations and preparing high-quality food items according to recipes and food safety standards.

Requirements

  • Previous kitchen or food prep experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and knife skills
  • Understanding of food safety guidelines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion ingredients
  • Measure and prepare ingredients according to recipes
  • Assist with basic cooking tasks (sauces, stocks, vegetables, proteins)
  • Maintain clean and organized prep stations
  • Follow food safety and sanitation standards
  • Label and properly store food items
  • Rotate inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out)
  • Assist with receiving and stocking deliveries
  • Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
  • Support line cooks during peak service times as needed
