About The Position

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Prep Cook to perform routine food service tasks under the general supervision of the Chef at a private coeducational college preparatory school located in North Andover, Massachusetts. Must be available to work T- Sat from 6 am-2 pm What the Prep Cook will do: Prepare salads, salad bar items, sauces, condiments, fruits, desserts, and other items for daily meals and special functions Maintain the freshness of produce, discard, and report products of poor quality Maintain color balance and garnishing, presenting all items attractively and in accordance with MG Best Practices Follow recipes and recommend changes in recipes and cooking methods to improve products and ensure quality Suggest utilization with the creativity of leftovers Prepare, maintain, and store all foods at/to required temperatures Take and record temperatures; follow all required sanitation and food handling procedures to ensure food safety Clean and sanitize cafeteria and kitchen areas; keep work areas neat and organized Assist with organization and sanitation of the walk­-ins and reach­-ins, with all items covered, labeled, and dated Provide information for usage recording and other data necessary for the production Assist in other production work areas as needed when requested by the Supervisor Other duties, as assigned What the Prep Cook will need: Prior experience in a restaurant and/or contract dining preferred Ability to learn and follow instructions, flexibility, speed, dexterity, and team commitment ServSafe Food Handlers Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment Reliability and a willingness to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment Good communication and organizational skills; great attitude What the Prep Cook will get: Competitive Pay, Uniforms, Meals, Training Mentorship, and Benefits (Health, Vision, Dental, etc.) Meriwether Godsey offers significant opportunities for growth and career advancement. Requirements
