About The Position

The Premedia Technology Specialist ensures the accuracy, efficiency, and technical integrity of all digital files, workflow systems, and production ready outputs within our commercial and direct mail printing environment. This role supports the Premedia department by maintaining and improving prepress workflows, optimizing postal processing automation, ensuring data security compliance, and serving as a technical resource for Quadient Inspire Designer, BCC Ignite, imposition software, and file prep tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic communications, computer science, printing technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5+ years of premedia, prepress, workflow, or production experience in commercial printing and/or direct mail.
  • Strong technical proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, PDF standards, imposition, color management, and variable data workflows.
  • Hands on experience with Quadient Inspire Designer, BCC Ignite for presort, address quality, NCOA, CASS, and postal documentation strongly preferred.
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Effective communicator who can translate technical information for nontechnical teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Kodak Prinergy and Power Switch knowledge would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with workflow automation, scripting, or production system integrations a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical file readiness, preflight, and troubleshooting for PDF, VDP, and imposition workflows to ensure press ready, error free production.
  • Validate and maintain end to end workflow integration across BCC Ignite, Inspire Designer, imposition platforms, and downstream production systems.
  • Maintain and optimize job templates, automation scripts, output profiles, and workflow configurations.
  • Execute and maintain postal processing functions including address hygiene, presort generation, USPS documentation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage NCOA/CASS settings, presort configurations, and postal related workflows to ensure data accuracy and USPS alignment.
  • Ensure variable data continuity and postal data integrity throughout production.
  • Partner with IT and Data Processing teams to test, validate, and document system updates, postal changes, and performance enhancements.
  • Identify and implement workflow automation and process improvements to reduce manual effort, errors, and rework.
  • Support KPI monitoring, error tracking, and root cause analysis to improve quality and throughput.
  • Serve as a technical escalation resource for Premedia operators, leads, and production teams.
  • Provide technical file evaluations and onboarding support for Sales, Client Services, and new customers.
  • Collaborate with the Premedia Manager on technology initiatives, workflow enhancements, and platform optimization.
  • Maintain compliance with data security and secure file handling standards.
