About The Position

The Predictive Maintenance Senior Specialist is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of Lignite, Coal, and Gas fired Electric Stations and associated mining equipment. The Predictive Maintenance Senior Specialist drives plant site and/or fleet Predictive Maintenance functions to ensure the maintenance strategy is effectively executed. The Predictive Maintenance Senior Specialist focuses on equipment performance improvement and interfaces with site support groups and plant site resources to improve the maintenance and reliability program. Predictive Maintenance Senior Specialist interfaces with site management, support groups, production staff, and the Power Optimization Center (POC).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent and 10 yrs related experience (power plant maintenance or operations preferred, Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills )
  • Possess ISO certification in vibration analysis (required)
  • Possess Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Ce rtified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) certification through the Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (required)
  • Possess certifications in Thermography and Machinery Lubrication Analysis (MLA) (required)
  • Experience with RCA facilitation in accordance with industry standards.
  • Excellent safety record for employee and co-workers.
  • Recognized across Vistra as subject matter expert (SME) for predictive maintenance skills

Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment data is collected with consistency and quality per the equipment maintenance strategy
  • Ensure data is analyzed proficiently and the use of support resources is efficient.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance strategies are adequate to minimize unplanned equipment failure and maximize plant reliability.
  • Champion the predictive maintenance program within plant and mining organizations.
  • Promote consistency and continuous improvement within the plant and across the plant site complex by standardizing procedures, processes, equipment, and operations practices.
  • Provide technical support for QA/QC, installation, and start-up of new equipment.
  • Utilize reporting instrumentation for monitoring and investigating equipment condition and historical trends.
  • Mentor and support PdM Analysts
  • Lead interpretation and analysis of complex issues
  • Prepare and present reports including recommendation to resolve complex issues
  • Participate in and on occasion lead special project and committees
  • Promote safety by utilizing HPI tools and techniques in daily functions and by active involvement in plant safety program.
  • Support capital projects by providing data and analysis for justification of projects.
  • Participate in the outage planning process, providing input into needed equipment inspection and repair.
  • Maintain documentation to support data driven decisions related to PdM activities.
  • Responsible for developing Reliability Technicians.
  • Create value and drive plant efficiency by proactively identifying components early, turning potential failures into opportunities for cost savings and operational excellence.
